For the comfort, safety and enjoyment of all patrons, staff and event participants, the following Conditions of Entry apply for all Adelaide Oval attendees. Conditions may vary for specific events – refer to the ticket information and the event website for more information. Patrons who refuse to comply with the conditions of entry will not be permitted entry, or may be removed from the venue, and any entry fee/s will not be refunded.

These conditions should be read in conjunction with the ticket conditions that apply to all ticket holders.

Refusal of Entry:

Adelaide Oval management reserves the right to refuse entry to any person, in particular to:

  • any person deemed to be intoxicated and/or disorderly,
  • any unauthorised persons,
  • carrying items which have the potential to cause injury or public nuisance,
  • any person who does not comply with the Conditions of Entry (including stipulated dress codes).

Prohibited Items:

  • Any item which could reasonably be deemed to cause public nuisance or offence to any user of the venue,
  • Alcohol cannot be brought into or taken out of Adelaide Oval,
  • Animals cannot be brought into Adelaide Oval (except assistance animals identifiable with an official identification pass, medallion, coat or other recognised form of identification),
  • Balls - including but not limited to tennis, cricket, footballs (except in the case of SANFL/AFL matches where footballs are permitted but must not be thrown or used in any way which could cause public nuisance),
  • Cricket or sporting bats longer than 30cm (excluding venue/event issued merchandise for children),
  • Bicycles, scooters, skates, skateboards,
  • Cans, glass bottles or glass containers,
  • Flag poles over 1 metre in length,
  • Professional standard still/video cameras, recording devices and tripods, and lenses with a total-focal strength of greater than 200mm,
  • Chairs or stools are prohibited for SANFL/AFL events,
  • Hard esky of any size/type (including foam esky),
  • Any bag or container that is too large to be stored safely under a seat,
  • Flares, fireworks, laser pointers,
  • Confetti or shredded paper,
  • Illicit drugs,
  • Weapons, guns & knives (or any other object that could be used as a weapon),
  • Inflatable items including beach balls, receptacles, devices or structures,
  • Shade cover structures,
  • Patrons must not wear or display political, religious or offensive signage or logos,
  • Patrons must not wear or display any item intended for the engagement of ambush marketing,
  • The wearing or possessing of motor cycle gang colours or paraphernalia is prohibited,
  • Oversized signs/banners/flags that are deemed to cause a public nuisance,
  • Loud hailers, megaphones, and musical instruments of any nature (including vuvuzelas, horns, whistles and drums). Specific conditions may apply for some events regarding the entry of musical instruments (see event details for more information),
  • Official event or venue issued merchandise may be permitted and therefore excluded from the list of prohibited items.

General Conditions:

  • Patrons are admitted to the venue at their own risk,
  • Some sporting and other activities are dangerous. Patrons viewing such activities do so at their own risk,
  • Smoking is not permitted at Adelaide Oval. Designated smoking areas are located outside the stadium,
  • Intoxicated patrons will be refused entry,
  • Adelaide Oval management and its representatives reserve the right to inspect/search bags, clothes or possessions regardless of size, of all persons who enter or exit Adelaide Oval,
  • Items, which in the opinion of management, have the potential to cause nuisance, offense or inconvenience to any other person in the venue will be requested to be removed from the venue or may be confiscated,
  • Patrons evicted from the stadium or refused entry to the stadium, will not be refunded or recompensed for their tickets,
  • Adelaide Oval management will not be held responsible for items confiscated (including alcohol),
  • Persons found with a lost, stolen, counterfeit, damaged or unreadable ticket will be refused entry or evicted (penalties will apply),
  • To ensure both patron and player safety, unauthorised entry to the field of play is prohibited (penalties will apply under Recreation Grounds (Regulations) Act 1931 (SA)),
  • Patrons, unless authorised, must not enter any part of the venue that is restricted to public access,
  • Patrons must not interfere with, obstruct or hinder Adelaide Oval or its employees, agents, contractors or an authorised officer, or any activity conducted on the field of play or stage or performance,
  • Throwing objects (including onto the field of play) is prohibited and will result in the patron responsible being evicted (penalties will apply under Recreation Grounds (Regulations) Act 1931 (SA)),
  • Patrons who cause a disturbance, are offensive, discriminatory, display anti-social behaviour, use foul or abusive language, make racial or threatening remarks or gestures, or refuse to comply with requests made by Adelaide Oval staff will be evicted,
  • The use of photographic, video or audio equipment for commercial purposes is not permitted within Adelaide Oval,
  • Cameras including mobile telephones with camera interfacing, must not be used in areas such as change rooms, parenting rooms and toilets for the privacy of all patrons,
  • Security cameras operate at this venue and patrons may be filmed/photographed,
  • Patrons may be filmed, recorded or photographed by official broadcasters/photographers and these images/recordings may be used for all manner of official broadcast or promotional purposes and no compensation will be entered into,
  • Patrons wishing to bring personal items into Adelaide Oval do so at their own risk. Adelaide Oval will not be held responsible for any damage, loss or theft of a patron’s personal property,
  • Umbrellas may be brought into Adelaide Oval but for the comfort and safety of others cannot be raised whilst any activities are taking place on the playing arena or stage, or, in the case of SANFL/AFL matches, cannot be raised or opened at any time while inside the stadium,
  • Patrons are required to take appropriate care for their sun protection and hydration,
  • Seats retract automatically - please check your seat before you sit down,
  • First Aid personnel are onsite to provide the general public with medical assistance if required. If you require first aid assistance please contact venue staff or locate the nearest First Aid room,
  • Should an Ambulance be required for medical treatment, the cost of such services will be at the expense of the patron,
  • Patrons must not sell any goods or services or give away political, religious, advertising or promotional materials without the prior written approval of the Adelaide Oval management,
  • Patrons are not to conduct public surveys or opinion polls or solicit money, donations or subscriptions from members of the public without the written consent of the Adelaide Oval management,
  • Littering is prohibited - patrons are requested to use waste receptacles located around the stadium,
  • Any person found mistreating, tampering, defacing or damaging any part of the stadium or surrounds will be evicted from the stadium and may face prosecution,
  • Patrons are requested to respect the parklands surrounding the stadium and the neighbouring private homes, businesses and institutions by acting in an appropriate manner, not littering and not making excessive noise when exiting or entering the stadium or associated car parks,
  • Any articles placed at the entrance to the admission gates must not be left unattended. Adelaide Oval accepts no responsibility for personal articles and reserves the right to remove any such articles,
  • Adelaide Oval reserves the right to close the Stadium gates regardless as to whether or not all ticket holders entitled to admission have gained admission to Adelaide Oval, if in the opinion of an Official of the Stadium Management Authority, the admission of further persons to the Venue would or might endanger the safety of those persons who have already been admitted,
  • Prams and strollers are permitted in the stadium however due to space limitations and for the safety and enjoyment of all patrons, discretion is requested (restrictions apply for storage locations),
  • No representations are made that there is space available in the Ground suitable for viewing the match,
  • Concession patrons are required to produce their concession card to gain entry,
  • Adelaide Oval reserve the right to refuse entry to any patron who attempts to enter or re-enter the Stadium using a pass-out, but not in possession of their original entry ticket,
  • It is a condition of entry that the Stadium Management Authority, AFL, SACA and its servants and agents, shall not be liable to you for any loss or damage, (including without limitation, loss or damage caused by the negligence of SMA, AFL, SACA or its servants and agents and incidental and consequential loss or damage), arising in any manner wholly or partly from or in connection with your use of these grounds,

Stadium Management Authority has the power to and may alter or vary these conditions and may make any Regulations relating to Adelaide Oval and its use, at any time.

NOTE: 24-hour closed circuit television surveillance operates throughout the venue.
